Stephen lives in Berlin and is unemployed. He and his ex-girlfriend have custody of their son, Jasper. Stephen and Jasper spend their time collecting old clothes and returnable bottles so they can earn some money. Jasper, who adores his father, protects him and stands up for him when his mother and child protection ask about him. Stephen, who knows himself to have failed in many ways, realizes he's not a good father either.
