Four Extraordinary Women plot

John Anderson is going through a rough time in his life when he runs into Sharon. Beautiful and intelligent, she supports him in coping with the loss of his mother to breast cancer. He thinks he will live a long and happy life with her if she is also diagnosed with breast cancer. A second hard time ensues, in which John must try to sustain himself while providing Sharon with every possible help. When his sister Mary and their former nanny and foster sister Caryl are also diagnosed with breast cancer, John is also the rock in the surf for them.
