Flucht in den Norden plot

Johanna fled Nazi Germany to visit a friend in Finland. From there she continues to the estate of her friend's family. Once at the estate, Johanna argues with her friend's pro-Nazi brother and at the same time falls for the second brother Ragnar, who shares her own anti-fascist feelings. The two soon find themselves in a passionate relationship and decide to travel further north together. In Finland's northernmost port, Johanna faces the difficult choice: choose her love for Ragnar or go to Paris to fight fascism.
