Floored by Love plot

'Floored by Love' tells two different stories that are intertwined and both set in Vancouver. One story is about the romance between a Chinese-Japanese lesbian couple Cara and Janet. Their relationship is nearly perfect until British Columbia passes a law allowing same-sex marriage and Janet wants to marry. Cara isn't so sure about this, though. Things get even more complicated when Cara's conservative parents come to visit. The second story is about Jesse, a young man who has only just expressed his homosexuality to his mother and his stepfather, when his biological father shows up unexpectedly on the doorstep. This causes the necessary problems. Jesse decides to follow his father, who is also gay and has turned out to be a successful actor in Manhattan, to the Big Apple.
