The author Anatole Hirsch, winner of the literary Prix Goncourt, has had enough. He is tired of his novels being bought for his name and reputation, but hardly read. He decides to re-release his latest novel, but under a pseudonym. To his own surprise, he again wins the Prix Goncourt.
