Ephemera plot

In post-pandemic Shanghai, 23-year-old Asher is getting ready to leave the city and return to Los Angeles. On one of her last evenings, she asks her hip-hop dance teacher, Tori, out for a cup of coffee. What starts as a casual outing turns into something neither of them expected. They stroll through the streets of the former French Concession, share stories and laugh together, sneak into a closed shopping mall, and slowly discover how much they have to offer each other, just as time is running out. By morning, they must face the bitter reality of a bond formed exactly one night too late.
