Enigma plot

Enigma follows "an actor's struggle to get into a movie". Max, a butcher in everyday life, decides to take matters into his own hands (Robert De Niro and Al Pacino wouldn't imitate him). He is making an international promotional film in his honor, 'to prove that I'm the best actor'. "The hero buys a gun to kill the traitor, his best friend who ran off with his girlfriend," he reads from his auto-biographical script: "Is that subtitle still running?" Friends, his ex-girlfriend and people on the street are used as extras to realize Max's scenario, but film and reality soon become inextricably linked.
