El Año del Tigre plot

Manuel is in prison in southern Chile. During the earthquake of February 27, 2010, the prison complex collapses. Manuel manages to escape and returns home. There he finds total chaos as a result of a tsunami and his wife and child are dead. The earthquake also struck fatally at his mother's house. Manuel makes his way through the rubble and survives by searching for food and drink among the clutter. His newfound freedom leads Manuel to unexpected encounters and brings him face to face with the effects of nature's cruelty.
