El Acompañante plot
"In the 80's, when fear spread faster than HIV, Cuba confined the epidemic behind a wall"
Cuba, 1988. The country's leading boxer, Horacio Romero, is caught in a doping test. He is sentenced to community service in the sanatorium "Los Cocos", a military institution where people with HIV are forcibly detained. Horacio is employed there as a supervisor for patients when they are allowed to leave the institution once a week. Daniel is the most aggressive patient, his limited freedoms will depend on Horacio's judgment. Daniel wishes to spend his last days in freedom while Horacio wants to get out of community service as soon as possible. Both men are capable of anything to achieve their goals.
