Droomland plot

The newly repatriated Paula tries to put down roots in Friesland in 1946, after her experiences in a Japanese internment camp. She is taken in by family she has never met before. Her presence as an Indo-Dutch is tolerated, but not fully accepted. Suspicion grows when brown rot is found on one of the potatoes since Paula's arrival at the potato farm. Paula feels that she has to survive again, but now she has a choice: does she choose her assigned family, or her own path?
