"What price fame for innocent beauties seeking careers in the theatre's spotlight!"

Louise Mauban is the top student in her class, constantly falling asleep during class. Her teacher is very offended by this, but does not know that Louise has to work hard to pay for her education and therefore has little time to sleep. One evening she meets a Marquis at the factory where she works. She lies to her classmates that she is in a relationship with this man. However, classmate Nana doesn't believe her and tries to uncover the truth.
