An intriguing, strongly acted, yet confusing psychological drama about a dysfunctional family consisting of 84-year-old Ines [Hildegard Schmahl] and daughters Anna [Jil Krammer] and Charlotte [Susanne Wolff]. Their neuroses and shortcomings surface in sometimes painful ways in a series of encounters and incidents. Charlotte's struggle with her youth is depicted in interactions with a much younger Ines [Carla Juri], but because Wolff plays herself in these scenes, it is confusing. The vague, non-chronological structure results in a lack of cohesion, making this more of a loose collection of sketches about a dysfunctional family than a story. There are supporting roles for Thekla Reuten and Jeroen Spitzenberger, and René van 't Hof appears in a commercial for a furniture store.
