Djavolji Raj plot

"It was an ordinary summer. Then the Germans came."

In Croatia during the Second World War, Andrija Gavrilovi is a somewhat silly lifeguard who is eager to prove herself. He gets his chance when he rescues a man from the water. Unfortunately, the drowning man turns out to be a German officer and soon Andrija is hailed as a hero by the fascist press, so that his compatriots mistake him for a collaborator. In the meantime, he gives shelter to a widow who has fled from Germany and her son.
