In 1930s Quebec, Brother Marie-Victorin is best known as the founder of the Montreal Botanical Garden. He befriends his student Marcelle Gauvreau, who will become his collaborator. Fueled by a love of religion and a fascination with nature and science, their relationship develops into a correspondence in which they explore their desires.
