Die Nacht von Lissabon plot

It is 1942. Joseph Schwarz is on the run from the Nazis. After an adventurous journey through Europe with his wife Helen, they reach Lisbon to leave for America by ship. But then fate strikes Joseph Schwarz. His wife dies on the threshold of freedom. He is overcome with grief and does not want to go to America anymore. He gives his two tickets for the crossing to a complete stranger. His only condition is that she listens to his life story for one night.
