Die Anfängerin plot
In her childhood, the now 58-year-old Annebärbel Buschhaus dreamed of one day becoming a famous figure skater. However, over the course of her life, she took a different path and became a successful doctor. However, she is not happy with this life. She does her job well and with little feeling and her marriage to her husband Rolf is also unloving. The only thing that really matters in Annebärbel's life is the opinion of her perfectionist mother, which she can never satisfy. When she is finally abandoned by her husband, she accidentally returns to the world of figure skating and she decides to get the ice skates out of the grease again.
