Des Plumes dans la Tête plot
The Walloon town of Genappe is known for its sugar factory and liquid fields where the remains of sugar beet rot and where migratory birds stop every year. Little red-haired Arthur Charlier (5 years old) is fascinated by the birds and embarks on his own trek never to return. The quiet life of his parents is thoroughly shaken by this. While father Jean-Pierre tries to accept the loss, his wife Blanche refuses to accept that her son has drowned. She continues as if nothing had happened and lets Arthur live on in her head, much to Jean-Pierre's despair.
