Der Prager Frühling plot

Today, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic are two independent democratic states and both members of the European Union and NATO. More than 40 years ago, on August 21, 1968, this vision of the future was completely unimaginable. On that summer day, Warsaw Pact troops invaded Czechoslovakia with 460,000 soldiers and 7,000 tanks. It was the largest military operation after World War II, led by the Soviet Union, to end the more moderate course that Alexander Dubcek wanted to take.
