Der Hafenpastor plot

Stefan Book, pastor in the Hamburg harbor district of St Pauli and a listening ear for all those who live on the margins of society, is told by his doctor that it is best to take it easy. After a stay in the hospital, he is assigned a housekeeper who will take care of him. Pastor Book learns that a series of burglaries have taken place in his church and that a young African girl, Adoma, is hiding there from the police. Adoma is threatened with deportation to her native Togo. Stefan Book grants her church asylum, until the foreigners' office re-examines her file...
