Death of a Son plot
Pauline and Ray Williams are shocked by the news that their 19-year-old son John has been found dead. They discover that he had been experimenting with drugs, but the verdict of the inquest is clear: he died because of someone else's fault. Yet there are no prosecutions. Unable to accept this decision, Pauline is taking on the British legal system.

Redgrave carries the film as a relentless woman who, addicted to smoking, embarks on a struggle after the death of her son. The whole thing feels like a VHS video. This also makes it powerful because it heightens the connection through human interaction. A true story. People are capable of much more than they think, and perseverance ultimately pays off...
