Dead of Night plot
Farhad is a translator and writer whose values have always clashed with those of the government, meaning his works have never been approved for publication. Therefore, he moves with his wife and daughter to the wooded and mountainous village of his birth. There, he takes up residence in a modest house that is on the verge of being flooded by a rising river. His stay there and the writing of his new novel mark the beginning of a new struggle for survival for him and his family: a battle against both the river and the oppressive regime.
