De Zwijgende Reiziger plot
Feature film about life in a nameless Kurdish mountain village, where the endless struggle between the government army and the champions of a free Kurdistan leads to division, murder and oppression. The film tells the story of the Kurdish sheepherder Silo (Abdulkadir Yousif) and his two children. After a confrontation between soldiers and freedom fighters, the shepherd decides to buy a gun to defend himself. Tensions in the village run high when the shepherd's nephew returns to the village as a police officer. The young man soon understands that some of the villagers, including his uncle, are hiding weapons. However, his feelings for his uncle's daughter make it difficult for him to act on the instructions of his superiors. Then the freedom fighters decide to attack the police station.
