De Mayerling à Sarajevo plot
At the end of the 19th century, Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian empire, falls in love with Sophie Chotek, a Czech countess. He already has problems at the Court because of his political ideas. His love affair with someone who doesn't belong to a royal family doesn't help. After his marriage, the emperor further neutralizes Franz Ferdinand's power by making him inspector general of the army. Sophie Chotek begins to fear for her husband's safety more and more.
