Dbus Lam Gyi Nyi Ma plot
The film follows the journey of young Tibetan man Nyma from Lhasa to his home in a remote part of the north-eastern Tibetan Plateau. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn the reasons for his melancholy nature and the guilt that drives him to embark on this journey. He has just made a pilgrimage, crawling all the way to Lhasa. Fear-ridden Nyma is joined by an old man on his way back. The vast and desolate backdrop stands as a striking metaphor for Nyma's sense of desolation, while the old man's musings stand in sharp contrast to Nyma's inner reflections, and the silence present.
