Dastaneh Natamam plot

Two documentary makers, Mazdak (Mazdak Taebi) and Mehdi (Mehdi Baghaian), join a group of people who want to leave the country to make a film about them. They start filming from the moment the bus drives towards the border. Since the emigrants do not want to reveal their identity, they are allowed to wear masks, which makes for a rather strange spectacle. As tension and fear grow, the fleeing people decide that the filmmakers are no longer welcome on the journey. But the filmmakers don't give up so easily: they visit the group later in the mountains, and again when the border is crossed. When the entire group is stopped by the border police, the filmmakers turn out to be true heroes when they convince the police that these people are extras in their film. According to the director, 'escape' can be understood here both literally and figuratively, because the individuals also avoid the truth of their own existence. Story Undone is a movie about movie. Documentary and feature film elements are used together and interchangeably.
