Das Schlafende Mädchen plot

Dusseldorf, early 1970s. The young and introverted student Hans meets Ruth, a youthful drifter who lives in a city park. Fascinated by her, Hans van Ruth makes the theme of his video art and offers her shelter in his studio. She is soon absorbed into the art world. Hans fears that she might escape him and therefore locks her up. He believes he can study the girl's mysterious inner self in his art testing lab. But during this experimental process, Hans confuses art with real life.
