Coolie plot
"If you have an item of death in your hands then I have God’s name in my heart."
Zafar Khan is a wealthy businessman but also a criminal and is in love with Salma. He does everything he can to marry her. But her father thinks otherwise, and he is subsequently murdered. As a result, Zafar gets imprisoned and after ten years he is released and wants to return to Salma. There he discovers that she is already married to Aslam and has a child. Zafar sabotages a dam that floods her entire village and kills her husband. Salma then suffers from amnesia and her son Iqbal is adopted by the uncle who works as a coolie: a colonial wage slave. Once Iqbal is an adult, conflicts arise between him and Zafar.
