"THEY LOVED THE SMELL OF POWDER...Face Powder"

When Sergeant Lucky Davis meets JoJo LaVerne while on leave, he becomes involved in a scandal that sees him demoted to a soldier and transferred to the jungles of the Philippines. Lucky then forces taxi driver and deserted Marine Terence V. Spud McGurke to go with him, because of his role in the scandal.
