Child in the House plot

A lonely 11-year-old girl is forced to stay with her aunt and uncle when her mother is hospitalized due to an illness. Her estranged father is a fugitive from the police. The aunt and uncle do not take good care of the girl and because she is looking for love and warmth, she befriends the maid. After a long time, the girl meets her father again, but has to promise not to tell anyone where he is staying. In doing so, he causes an internal conflict in the girl about what to do.
