"This winter, one wish will change everything"

Emily, 17, lives in a small coastal town in Australia's Victoria province. She would like to know who her father was, but her single mother Susan does not want to mince words and insists that her father was a tourist who visited the village one summer, never to return. Susan struggles to forget the past and hasn't spoken to her religious parents since she became pregnant at age 15. Emily seeks a father figure in Stephen, an elderly boat repairman, who is also haunted by his past.
