Cartacalha, Reine des Gitans plot

The dancer Cartacalha is elected queen of the gypsies. She loves a cattle breeder of horses, Galejon, but after misunderstandings and deceit she leaves for Paris, invited by a playwright who predicts her great success on the stage. She becomes a star and returns to Camargue, where she experiences another series of disappointments. She decides to commit suicide.
