Carmel plot

The history of Israel is difficult to grasp; from their military past to being the cradle of Western religions. Amos Gitai portrays the changing history in his new biographical film 'Carmel' and begins his story in the year 70 BC. between Jews and Romans. Then began in the Carmel Mountains, near present-day Haifa, a struggle that was marked as the beginning of the Jewish Diaspora (dispersion of the Jewish people). With this battle as a starting point, Gitai traces the course of the wars in the Middle East and combines his own experiences as a soldier with that of his son, who is now also in military service.
