In the year 1618, the religious conflict between the Catholic Habsburgs and Bohemian Protestants is at its peak. When the royal governors Jaroslav Borita and Vilém Slavata and secretary Philip Fabricius are thrown out the window of Prague Castle by opponents of King Ferdinand II, this leads to the Bohemian Revolt led by Jindrich Matyás Thurn. A war ensues that lasts for thirty years.
