Narrated in real time and shot in one shot, Boxing Day documents every minute of an evening in the life of Chris Sykes, a recovering alcoholic and estranged father. Living alone under house arrest, Chris is preparing Christmas lunch for his family when an old friend shows up at the door and reveals some disturbing news. When his daughter, his wife and her new boyfriend finally arrive, the situation slowly escalates and we are drawn into a gripping story of a hopeless father who eventually reveals the dark and disturbing secret of what tore his family apart.
