Bonsái plot
"A story of love, books and plants."
Chili. Julio and Emilia's fate is set from the start, as the viewer is immediately told that Emilia dies and Julio is left alone. However, Julio was always alone, years before Emilia will die. Flashbacks look back at Julio's life as a student in the provincial coastal town of Valdivia, interwoven with moments from his current life as a struggling writer in Santiago. During his studies he met Emilia. His neighbor Blanca plays a major role in his current life.
