"Everyone has to find their own way home."
A working-class neighborhood in Melbourne: during one day and one night we follow seven children and their mothers and the problems they face in their daily lives. The children don't really have a life situation that tempts them to stay at home. In the morning we meet the mothers, from whom we see all kinds of different things than we could trace from their children. The mothers are held hostage by the love for their children and show the powerlessness they know in trying to want the best for their children.
