Beneath the Banyan Tree plot

After her son ends up in jail, Jia-Rong Woo, the high hopes for Chinese householder, tries to protect her family's reputation. She moves to the United States and, along with her son's children, moves in with her independent daughter Ai-Jia and her American boyfriend Vance. It doesn't take long before Jia-Rong interferes with her daughter's other lifestyle.
