Behold My Wife plot
"Her savage heart pounded with revenge when her love went unwanted!"
After Michael Carter's fiancé commits suicide, he vows revenge on his wealthy family, who destroyed his marriage. Michael drives angrily through the countryside and ends up in a saloon, where he is shot by Indian Pete. Pete's girlfriend Tonita Storm Cloud tends to Michael's wound and falls in love with him. Michael notices this and asks Tonita to marry him. He sees this marriage as a perfect revenge against the prejudices of his family. They get married and Michael takes Tonita to New York. Tonita is wearing her Indian attire and Michael hopes to embarrass his family with it. Much to Michael's delight, he and Tonita are mocked by the press and his wealthy milieu. Meanwhile, Tonita is confused. She wonders why Michael doesn't want to consummate their marriage.
