Bai Mi Zha Dan Ke plot
Coming from a farming family, Ru knows better than anyone how the situation for farmers in Taiwan has deteriorated since the government relaxed import regulations for agricultural products in the late 1980s. After 2002, when Taiwan joined the World Trade Organization, local farmers were instructed to leave their fields fallow and turn them into lakes. Politicians keep looking the other way when it comes down to it as countless village children drown in these lakes. Ru decides to become the voice of these farmers and reminds the government of its obligations. Yang Rumen becomes the 'Rice Bomber'.
