Baboy Halas plot

In the jungle in the south of the Philippines, tribes of Matigsalog, original inhabitants, still live. Wailings in the Forest is about one such family living in the forest as a hunter-gatherer. They are one of the last to live this way. Other tribes have adapted to a more agricultural lifestyle on the plains around the forest. Mampog tries to support his family, consisting of two women and a daughter, by hunting. But catching wild boars is getting harder and harder. When making sacrifices to the spirits doesn't seem to help either, and the outside world seems to get closer and closer, Mampog becomes possessed.
