Averills Ankommen plot

Averill travels by train through a troubled countryside, amid rumors of war, to visit his father. He reaches a train station in a city paralyzed by a public transport strike and is forced to seek shelter. In a quiet part of this unattractive city, where the only sound on the street is the echoing of footsteps, he checks into a hotel. In a bar, everything he encounters seems bizarre. After some time, he tries to woo a much older woman. Their relationship is characterized by timid emotions and sexual desire; it is a love that is both uninhibited and forbidden.
