Avant les Rues plot

Shawnouk has lost touch with the traditions of the Atikamekw people and struggles with everyday life in the reserve. His mother's new boyfriend is a police officer and although he means well, Shawnouk cannot accept him as a member of the family. One day Shawnouk gets involved in a burglary and when the homeowner suddenly shows up, things go wrong. Shawnouk has to flee to the dense forests of Quebec.
