At the End of the Day: The Sue Rodriguez Story plot
Sue Rodriguez is told she has ALS (neuromuscular disease causing muscle paralysis) and that she has only a few years to live. The course of the disease will mean that she will be able to do less and less. At the end of her life, she probably won't be able to move or talk. She doesn't want to die like this, but knows that at the end of her life she won't have the strength to take her own life either. She is therefore reaching out to people who want to fight for a change in the law that would allow assisted suicide when performed by a doctor, and the final decision still rests with the patient.
