Asphalt Zahov is a collection of three stories, set in the Israeli desert, among the Bedouins. In the first story, a Bedouin boy is run over by a tanker while crossing a highway and dies. The truck driver and his assistant decide to put the body on the side of the road. When they want to drive away, the ignition of the tank car fails and they have to fix it. When they have finished repairing, they find that they are surrounded by the Bedouin. In the second story, a German woman is married to a Bedouin. They have marital problems and she decides to flee from the Bedouin tribe with her two children. The third story is about a Palestinian housekeeper who is married to a Bedouin chieftain. She cheats on her husband with an Israeli Jewish farmer who is also married and has children. When they are caught by Bedouin children while making love in the desert, her husband hears about it with all the consequences that entails.
