"We're Working For Uncle Sam, Too--- Buy War Bonds And Stamps At This Theatre"
Beth Ainsley is a medical officer on a plane bound for the battlefields of World War II. She thinks back to the First World War, twenty years ago. She was then working as a nurse under Captain Mason and there she met Phil, an injured pilot and a former lover of hers. After his discharge, the hospital, which was underground, had to be evacuated. Phil helped Mason and Beth and the three were left behind because of five patients who couldn't be transported. A bomb hit and the road out was blocked by rubbish and debris.
