Farmer Anne Bäbi Jowäger has a penchant for the occult. When her son Jakobli becomes very ill and his life hangs by a thread, she obtains an elixir from miracle healer Vehhansli. On the advice of fortune teller Schnupfseckli, Anne prepares her son's wedding, as this will ensure his recovery. But neither the expensive miracle potion nor the fortune teller's advice has any effect.
