Anna-Liisa plot

Rural Finland, at the end of the nineteenth century. Fifteen-year-old Anna-Liisa is seduced by farmhand Mikko, who leaves shortly afterwards. However, she becomes pregnant and in a panic she accidentally kills her baby. Mikko's mother helps her bury the body and no one else knows about the drama. A few years later, Anna-Liisa is about to marry the wealthy Johannes. Miko, now a rich man, returns and threatens to reveal everything if she refuses to marry him.
