Animas Trujano (Mifune) is a colorful, irresponsible Indian living in a small Mexican town. It is Trujano's dream to one day be elected mayor of the village, which is often only reserved for the wealthy population. However, Trujano does not live as a loyal man. He cheats on his wife and gambles away his money. In the end he gets the chance to make his dream come true, will he seize it?
