American Reel plot

In this film, we meet a struggling singer/songwriter faced with the prospect of future success after living in the fringe of the music industry for twenty years. James Lee Springer's talent is unadulterated, as is his knack for constantly battling with the flattering record executives who can determine the outcome of his career. With his career finally underway, Springer must take the advice of his pragmatic permanent manager and his best friend Jason for his real big break, so that he can learn the difficult lesson that celebrity can sometimes take a heavy toll.
