Alsino y el Condor plot
Alsino (Alan Esquivel), a 10-year-old boy, lives with his grandmother in a remote area of Nicaragua. As his land and its decaying buildings collapse around him, the idealistic Alsino likes to fantasize that he is a condor flying high above his misery. During one of his hallucinations, Alsino jumps out of a tree. The fall cripples him and turns him into a hunchback. It is only when he joins the guerrilla movement fighting the corrupt government forces that Alsino rises above himself.
